Even after 15 years of its release, The Lord of the Rings trilogy still holds up as one of the greatest movie trilogies ever created. Despite being one continuous story, each film manages to hold its own unique narrative.
To this date, no other fantasy film or series has been able to replicate the success achieved by The Lord of the Rings trilogy. So what really makes this series of films so special? Batman v Superman may not have been the most stellar movie of the year, and certainly wasn't very well received amongst a lot of fans and critics. One of the biggest talking points of the film was none other than Lex Luthor, played by Jesse Eisenberg.

Thanks to Robert Downey Jr.'s awesome portrayal of the character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we're all quite familiar with this iconic character.
